Going between commercial and personal work helps me to enhance the creative aspects of both. I find that they feed one another, and I am enjoying splitting my time between them. I truly like working with others and the creative aspects I can add to a joint vision. Commercial work is about collaboration, something I have always appreciated.
As far as my personal work; I find it someplace between imagination and documentation, someplace between fiction and not-quite-fiction. Most of my work joins humor with social commentary to reflect on contemporary culture. I am not interested, however in spoonfeeding my message or the intent of the image to the viewer. I believe that each person who looks at a piece brings their own history, ideas and personality, and because of that, will interpret it in their own way.
